Snow Ice Cream: A Fun Way to Enjoy Snow Indoors.
Having been around snow for many years, I'm surprised that I didn't know about snow ice cream. Maybe because we weren't in the United States? Who knows?
Anyway, I recently learned how to make it.
Snow Ice Cream
Ingredients: A large bowl of fresh snow (collect it overnight or gather clean snow) 1 cup whipping cream or half and half 1/2 cup sugar 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Mix together all ingredients, except snow. Mix in snow gradually until desired consistency is reached. Serve immediately.
When I was a kid, my family lived in Japan and Germany. During the winter months, when everything was covered in white blankets of snow, we had a blast playing in it and finding new things to do with it. I loved all the possibilities it offered me.
Like most kids, my brothers and I spent much time building forts and snowmen, sledding down hills, having snow ball fights, shoveling it off the walkways (I actually miss doing this), and eating it.
In Japan, we even attended snow festivals. The sculptures we saw were amazing! My favorite was a sculpture of Yoda.
One day, I spent half the day building a stand for snow cones.

No Laughing! This was taken in the late 70's. Me with my dog, Tenshi (means angel), at a local snow festival. Too bad I didn't take any pictures of the sculptures.
I did, however, take a picture of our Mt. Fuji sculpture.
You've gotta see the cute
snowman
I built out of ice cream. Maybe make one for yourself.
