Easy Soda Pop Ice Cream

by Eleanor Matthews
(Chattanooga, TN)

Any soda of your choice will do. Below is a recipe for vanilla ice cream:

1- 2 liters of cream soda (OR what ever flavor you choose)
2- cans of condensed milk
1/2 gal, whole milk

Pour cream soda into ice cream maker, (Do Not pour all of it in, stop at the bottom of the cream soda label!!!!! )

Add 2 cans of condensed milk.

Then, pour whole milk in the ice cream maker. Stop at the "full" line(the ice cream maker has a full line).

Plug in the ice cream maker, add ice
and ice cream salt, and wait about 1 hour.

You can make any flavor with any kind of soda by following the same recipe.

Just buy the flavor soda you want and enjoy...
orange soda-great, grape soda- kids love it.

How original!
by: Mama Freak (Ice Cream Freaks)

Thanks, Eleanor, for sharing this great ice cream recipe. Never would have thought to make a soda pop flavored ice cream. What a great idea!

I'm guessing this recipe makes quite a bit of ice cream and that the ice cream maker better be pretty big. Can you cut the recipe in half to use in a 1/12 to 2 qt. ice cream maker? Or, maybe just divide up the mixture and freeze in separate batches (3 or 4 total, I would think)

Anyway, thanks again for the recipe.

regular size ice cream maker
by: Anonymous

Hello just wanted to let you know that it will fit in your regular ice cream maker. Just follow the directions very careful. you will use very little milk, and most of the soda pop. And yes you can freeze what you have left over. My son does that all the time. Hope you enjoy it.

BEST ICE CREAM & Look MA--No Eggs
by: Anonymous

This is one of the absolute Best Ice Cream Recipes ever. It has lots of dairy, your favorite soft drink(mine is grape soda), but it also works well with Coca Cola, Dr. Pepper, And good old Barq's Root Beer.
This is what my Sweet Mama(grandmother) called "Grape Ping Pong", because it was made with grape soda.
Please note this is an EGG-FREE recipe. No worry about "salmonella" poisoning your friends, relatives or neighbors.
You stand a better chance of getting poisoned by potato salad or green beans than you do from the pasteurized eggs in ice cream, but some folks just worry, way too much.

Fantastic recipe from years ago
by: crafty_cristy

I had this recipe about 20 years ago and I have been thinking about it lately. I am so glad to have the recipe again. It's good enough that I remembered it 20 years later.:)

Easy Soda Pop Ice Cream
by: Karan

I use one 2 liter of soda & one 14 oz. can sweetened condensed milk. Mix them together real well & chill, then pour in ice cream churner & churn for approx. 30 mins. When finished churning, I then put in freezer to finish freezing.
